What is Kinter?
Kinter is an AI workforce platform for accounting teams. Its AI accountants work through the expense side of the month-end checklist: they identify accruals and prepaid expenses, automate payroll entries, reconcile accounts and draft journal entries, which post to NetSuite or QuickBooks only after a person approves them.
Who it's for
Controllers, accounting managers and in-house finance teams on NetSuite or QuickBooks that want a continuous close without adding headcount. Kinter pitches it as costing less than business process outsourcing (BPO).
Key features
- Always-on accrual prep from bills, payroll, contracts and activity, with schedules, journal entries and next-month reversals created automatically
- Prepaid expense identification and amortization schedules
- Payroll journal entries and fixed asset schedules
- Daily transaction matching to the GL and subledger (one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many); Kinter says the agent matches about 95% of transactions, with exceptions in one queue
- Bank, cash and balance sheet reconciliations, flux and variance analysis, and intercompany eliminations
- Journal entries drafted with attached evidence and routed for approval; nothing posts to the general ledger without explicit human approval
- Audit trail linking each entry to its source transaction, the agent logic and the approver
- Security: SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 Type 1 (per Kinter's security page), AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, US-based data centers; Kinter says customer data is never used to train models
Integrations
Kinter works in NetSuite and QuickBooks and posts back to the ERP after approval. It connects ERPs via OAuth 2.0, bank accounts via Plaid and payroll systems via Finch, and accepts CSV uploads. It says its connectivity was originally developed at Alloy Automation and covers 400+ systems.
